Partial Hospitalization Program
Helping Adults Reclaim Emotional Wellness, One Day at a Time
What Is a Partial Hospitalization Program?
-
Stabilize emotionally
-
Learn new coping skills
-
Receive psychiatric support
-
Build resilience
-
Return home each evening to maintain independence
This model empowers individuals to recover without disruption to their home life — while still receiving the clinical support they need.

A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a short-term, intensive mental health service for adults who need structured support but do not require overnight hospitalization. It provides a bridge between inpatient psychiatric care and traditional outpatient therapy — offering daily treatment in a healing, daytime environment.

At Sojourn at Seneca, our PHP gives adults a safe space to:
Who We Serve
Our PHP is open to adults typically aged 40 and older, including middle-aged and older individuals facing emotional, behavioral, or psychological challenges.
The program supports those who may be experiencing:
-
Depression, anxiety, or mood instability
-
Emotional distress connected to health issues or chronic pain
-
Difficulty adjusting to major life changes such as retirement, divorce, or loss
-
Grief or unresolved trauma
-
Behavioral or cognitive changes that affect relationships or daily functioning
-
Stress or burnout from caregiving responsibilities or work-related pressures
We tailor treatment to meet the unique needs of each participant — whether they are navigating midlife challenges or transitions that come with aging.

When PHP May Be the Right Care
PHP can be especially helpful when traditional therapy is not enough to achieve stability, but inpatient hospitalization feels too intensive. It may be the right option if you or someone you care about is:
-
Struggling to manage emotional symptoms despite ongoing outpatient therapy
-
Recently discharged from an inpatient hospital stay and in need of step-down support
-
Experiencing emotional or behavioral changes that interfere with daily functioning
-
Facing major stressors, isolation, or persistent sadness
-
At risk of hospitalization without structured, daytime support

PHP provides daily structure and professional guidance to help individuals regain balance and confidence in their recovery journey.
